Charlie's Not All that Happy about Going to the Groomer! haha!

But every dog has to get a bath or have their hair cut - and I've got two dogs who need to get their hair cut and 2 dogs who seem to get stinky and need baths - so I have intimate knowledge about local groomers - I am like most people and only go to a couple - and groomers are like GOLD in this city - but there are more popping up all the time.

Paw Prints Doggy Day Care out in Bedford offers all breed dog grooming - as well as grooming for cats as well - they groom by appointment - and have a website at http://www.pawprintsdoggydaycare.com/index.asp - their phone number is 832-9323 and their grooming shop is separate from the doggy day care so there's less stress on the dogs - so it sounds like win-win to me!

There's a neat grooming shop in Cole Harbour that sells really high quality dog kibble and some pet supplies - it's called "Pet Peeve Pet Shop" - and it's at 1114 Cole Harbour Road - their phone number is 902-435-9968.  They're also really good groomers - it's where I've been taking Buttercup - so I can safely say it's a good place to go!

Kathleen Duffy - the maker of the famous "mutt muffins" and "liver birthday cakes" -is the owner of Tailwagrrrs - and her facility offers grooming, a doggy cafe, a doggy day care, and a doggy boutique - I think that's everything, but I may have missed a thing or two!  Oh yes, and she also has a self serve tub that's open some days!  It's on the Bedford highway directly across from Clearwater Lobster.

House of Dogs on Quinpool Road - has recently taken on new ownership!  The owners of Doggy Styles in Enfield have bought the House of Dogs - so the one of the oldest grooming shops in the HRM is going to be having big changes I'd imagine. They don't have a website but they're at 6448 Quinpool Road and their phone number is 492-3647

On that note - I've sussed it out - and the former owners of House of Dogs Ann and Bobbi-Ann have moved out to Tantallon and opened a new shop - it's bigger and roomier and they have more space to sell dog stuff - it's called the "Healthy Hound" and I'm told it's on the main drag by the mini mall that has the 2 vet hospitals and the gas station and Superstore - I've got to go out there so I can get the proper location - so if you've been out there and you know where it is - email me so I can share the love!!

Metro Dog Wash - has recently taken over new ownership - by the owner of Tailwaggrrss - so the focus has moved over to grooming - I think they still have the same phone number, so you can reach them by calling 422-9364
